Q: Where do I begin and how do I contact you for more information?

Q: Can we discuss or meet before the session?
A: Yes absolutely.  For Portrait sessions feel free to call or email me to discuss. Alternatively if you want to meet face to face with no obligation, I am more than happy to pop out and have a coffee! For Weddings I always advise that we meet for a free no obligation consultation so we can discuss any requirements you may have and for you to have some idea of what I'm like and the kind of work I do. Simply contact me to arrange an appointment.

Q: What should I wear for a Family photo shoot?
A: In terms of clothing I advise to go neutrals, creams or light pastel so greys/beige etc. Avoid logo's or large patterns.

Q: Where are the Portrait photos taken?
A: We can shoot at a location of your choice such as a beach or a park, or I can set up a studio setting.

Q: Do you do baby photography?
A: Of course, and I love it!

Q: Do you do pregnancy photography?
A: Yes I do and I enjoy taking photos of such a special time!

Q: How long will a Family Portrait photography session take?
A: For Families this usually takes between 1-2 hours.  For families with young children between 30 - 45mins as I find this is how long children's attention tends to last for!

Q: You state one price for a photo shoot and digital negatives. Is there any additional charge?
A: After taking your photos, these are then edited and put on a USB stick for you to keep and treasure. If you require additional USB sticks for family or friends, there is an extra charge of $10 per USB stick.

Q: Do you charge travel costs?
A: If you live on the North Shore or Auckland City, I do not charge travel costs.  However, if your photo session is not at either one of these locations, then any travel costs will be included in your price that you will be quoted.

Q: How do you charge?
A: For Family and Portrait photography, payment is required at the time of your booking.  For weddings, in order to secure your booking a non refundable 50% deposit is required at the time of your booking and the remaining 50% is due 2 weeks before your wedding date.  If you make any additions to your wedding package, then your price will be adjusted accordingly and this change will need to be paid when you pay your balance.

Q: What is your style?  Do you use props?
A: My approach leans towards being relaxed and personal and I prefer to use the outdoors especially as there is no better backdrop than nature itself and using its natural light! I believe people and peoples interactions with each other are the best "props".  You can capture some very special moments this way and that is why I prefer not to use too many props in my work.  However, if you have a favourite childhood toy or family heirloom that you want to be included in your photo shoot absolutely bring these along and include them. After all I want you to be happy with your photos!

Q: Do we get the digital negatives and who retains the ownership of the photos?
A: By using me as your photographer you are giving me permission to use any of your photographs in a marketing/advertising capacity for Arifah Photography.  However you have complete ownership of the digital negatives. They remain yours to use in any way you want.
